MISSION STATEMENT

The Good Samaritan Mission, Inc. is a charitable, not for profit, Christian ministry. The Mission is dedicated to a holistic approach to enhancing the spiritual and physical quality of life of farm workers and other living in poverty.

We provide services and programs, which target the disenfranchised population of South Hillsborough County. Everyone is welcome. The Good Samaritan Mission invites all persons of any race/ethnicity, gender, or religious preference. Services are provided based on need and are not contingent upon participation in religious programs.

The goal of the Good Samaritan Mission is to promote optimal life function by providing the tools and knowledge, which enhances one’s daily existence. The Mission attempts to accomplish this goal through the following actions:

1. Providing the essential elements of daily life, including food, clothing, access to health care, household goods, childcare, and emergency shelter.

2. Enhancing education and learning through early childhood programs for pre-schoolers and after school remedial programs for children from Kindergarten to 5th grade.

3. Referrals to community and government agencies as needed.

4. Participating in community advocacy and assuming leadership roles to improve living conditions such as adequate and affordable housing, improved working conditions with decent wages, a safe working environment and transportation.

5. Rendering services to the dispossessed in a spirit of true Christian compassion, trying always to enhance the dignity and self-esteem of all those in need of assistance, and improving their quality of life.
